On the penultimate day of Laura Gaiger’s exhibition ‘Common Land’, friend and fellow artist Robert Carter will present a rough cut of an unfinished film, which features Gaiger working on the project currently on show at USF Visningsrommet. The screening (30 mins) will be followed by an informal conversation between the artists and audience.

The film follows Carter on the move in rural parts of the UK and Norway this Summer. Taking the form of a mooch (defined as an instance of loitering in a bored or listless manner), Carter uses the camera as a tool to position himself within his friend’s lives at a moment of extreme restlessness.
Robert Carter is an artist and writer from Manchester living in Norway. He graduated with an MFA from the Bergen Art Academy in 2020. From 2016-2018 he was an Associate Artist of the Liverpool Biennial. Prior to this, a member of the School of the Damned (Class of 2016). He is currently editor-in-chief at the Dental Advice Bureau.
